Echolocation – Another Battle with the Roof: November 18
After our roofer, Piet, failed to show up, and with no response from our Peace Corps advisor and no advice from Ma, Joe decided to take matters into his own hands and ventured back on the roof. Using the left-over supplies from Piet, Joe attacked each hole with what we have come to refer to as ‘toilet paper and glue’. Kelli helped Joe locate the holes from inside the house by using a broom to bang on the tin ceiling. Although we worked as fast as we could, we had to abandon the project early as the skies turned black and the distant rumble warned us of rain. We quickly walked our friend Angie to the corner to catch her taxi (she had been visiting and checking her e-mail) but were not lucky enough to evade the downpour. Returning home soaked and tired, we set out the buckets and relaxed the rest of the day.
